Participants in the fitness centre must immediately report any equipment malfunctions, bodily injuries and specific concerns to staff. A variety of activities take place in gyms of certain branches; A calendar of activities can be found at the Visitor Centre or pittsburghymca.org. When performing training sets, make sure others are waiting. Allow other members to execute a sentence while you rest. Use machines only for their intended use. Report defective devices to Visitor Centre staff. Refrain from hitting or dropping weights. Wipe down machinery and equipment when you`re done. Pay attention to your neighbor. Please refrain from using profanity, loud noises or other inappropriate horse games. Always use headphones when listening to music.
As a courtesy, if you use free weights (or any other moving equipment), please put them back in their place at the end of your training session and be sure to remove the poles and put the plates back on the storage shelves. The person checking the device is responsible for returning it. There is a $50 fee for all devices that are not returned. Charges will be credited to the account and must be paid no later than the next billing cycle. Unpaid fees are subject to termination of membership. Non-members must pay for lost equipment before returning to the facility. Safety is our top priority, always and especially now, so we take extra precautions to ensure the safety of members at all ages. At this time, our healthy living experts do not believe it is safe for children 13 and under due to the nature of the equipment and the limited availability of staff to monitor usage.
Thank you for your patience as we slowly introduce more activities for children. A variety of group exercises are included with your YMCA membership at no additional cost. Registration is mandatory for paid courses. YMCA instructors may recommend removing a member due to safety concerns or disruptive behaviour. If you intend to perform more than one set of repetitions on a machine, please allow others to work between your sets. Be careful not to interfere with someone else`s training by lingering too long on one piece of equipment.
